Zack Krieger

A former collegiate cross country and track and field runner, Zack Krieger was named Assistant Coach for the Pioneers cross country and track programs in August 2021.
 
Krieger comes to Cal State East Bay after spending the 2019-20 season as a graduate assistant at the University of Central Missouri, where he assisted in several aspects including transportation, recruiting, scholarships, setting up for meets and practice implementation. During his tenure at Central Missouri, the men’s and women’s programs were both ranked nationally by the USTFCCCA, as Krieger earned a Master's in Science, Kinesiology/Sports Management with a 4.0 GPA.
 
As a first-year assistant coach at Elizabethtown College in 2018-19, Krieger led middle distance runners, steeplechasers and assisted with long-distance athletes, as the Blue Jays won the Landmark Conference title and received coaching staff of the year honors.
 
Krieger competed as a cross country and track and field athlete at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. In addition to earning all-conference honors and being a team captain, Krieger also served as a student worker assistant coach during this time, preparing work outs and assisting in the recruiting process. He earned a bachelors degree in Secondary Education/History in 2018, landing on the Dean's List all years present and graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.79 GPA.
 
Krieger has a USTFCCCA Level One Certification, a Professional Teaching Certificate and an Adult/Child First Aid/CPR/AED certification from American Red Cross.
