ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The 2025 season for Cal State East Bay women's cross country starts under the lights on Saturday, September 13 in the Kim Duyst Twilight Cross Country Invite in Ceres. It will be the third season for the program under the direction of head coach
Norm Alston. Among the 12 teams in the conference, the Pioneers were picked to finish sixth in the CCAA Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll.
Ranked ahead of the Pioneers in the poll are Chico State at the top (10 first place votes), followed by Stanislaus State (two first place votes), Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State San Marcos, Cal State Monterey Bay then the Pioneers.
Chico State was the 2024 CCAA Champions, and won 14 of the last 16 CCAA titles.
Although the Pioneers are picked for sixth place, their chance to prove better comes on Friday, October 24 with in the CCAA Cross Country Championships in Chico at Bidwell Park. The regular season includes four meets leading up to the CCAA Championships.
