TURLOCK, Calif. – Cal State East Bay softball played in the second day of the Tournament of Champions, Presented by the City of Turlock on Saturday, taking on Central Washington. The Pioneers won 2-0 over the Wildcats at Warrior Softball Field with the game halted as a final after only two outs in the top of the seventh inning.
CSUEB was also supposed to play Simon Fraser but the game was canceled due to weather.
In the bottom of the third inning,
Ashlee Toy singled up the middle to drive in
Jeslyn Cuellar, giving the Pioneers a 1-0 lead. The lead doubled to 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth when
Alexa Zumstein launched her second home run of the season. The Pioneers held CWU scoreless the rest of the way and went on to a 2-0 victory.
- Marissa Quintero earned the win in the circle for the Pioneers with 10 strikeouts.
