HAYWARD, Calif. - A second half goal from
Abigail Kern is all that Cal State East Bay women's soccer needed to defeat San Francisco State 1-0 in a tightly contested CCAA match Thursday night at Pioneer Stadium.
Abigail Kern netted the game's lone goal in the 61st minute that found the lower left corner of the net, which was assisted by
Mika Sayfurahman, to secure the victory for the Pioneers.
- Kern's goal was her third of the season and third in the last five matches.
- Sayfurahman had a team-high four shots, all of which were on frame.
- Pioneer goalkeeper Ashley Levi recorded three saves to earn the clean sheet and her first shutout at Cal State East Bay. It was also Levi's first win in net with the Pioneers.
- Cal State East Bay outshot San Francisco State 13-6, with a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
