Box Score HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay women's soccer completed its season opening four match homestand Saturday afternoon against Fresno Pacific. To remain unbeaten for the 2023 season, the Pioneers won 3-2 at Pioneer Stadium.
- Pioneers would open the scoring in the fifth minute on a Maya Farkas strike after a pass from Mika Sayfurahman. Farkas picked up her first goal of the season.
- Approximately eight minutes later, the Sunbirds evened the match at 1-1 on a Karyssa Lopez goal that was assisted by Madilyn Hernandez.
- In the 32nd minute, the Pioneers would take the lead on a Harlye Holliday goal after an assist by Sarah Cox giving the Pioneers a 2-1 lead they took into halftime.
- In the 75th minute, a penalty kick was awarded to the Pioneers. And they capitalized on a penalty kick goal from Morgan Keller for a 3-1 lead.
- Tessa Simmons scored a goal for FPU in the 82nd minute to cut the deficit to a goal. Ashley Gardner assisted on the Sunbirds' second goal of the match.
- Gabriella Rodil had a match-high three shots for the Pioneers.
- The goals scored by Holliday and Keller were the first in their respective careers at Cal State East Bay.
- Jordan Smith for the Pioneers got the win in net as she has been the keeper of record in all three victories for CSUEB this season.
- Cal State East Bay outshot Fresno Pacific 15-5 and had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
