HAYWARD, Calif. — Cal State East Bay men's basketball junior
Zack Perlstein has been named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
It's the second-consecutive week an East Bay player has received the accolade, as Perlstein is the third Pioneer to earn the honor this season. He joins forward
Zafir Williams and forward
Tone Patton last week as conference players of the week.
A native of Vacaville, Perlstein posted a new career high 25 points in consecutive games for the Pioneers, leading CSUEB to road victories over Sonoma State and Cal Poly Humboldt. Perlstein made six 3-pointers in the win at Sonoma State, and recorded eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks while playing 50 total minutes in a thrilling triple overtime win at Cal Poly Pomona.
CSUEB (8-12, 6-8 CCAA) has now won four-straight games and resumes action this week with home contests against San Francisco State on Thursday, Feb. 17, before playing host to Cal State Monterey Bay for Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 19.
