TURLOCK, Calif. – The final match of the 2022 season took place for the Cal State East Bay men's soccer team on Thursday. The Pioneers dropped the season finale, 4-2 to Stanislaus State in CCAA action.
- The Warriors opened the scoring in the seventh minute on a goal from Chase Koptieff, which was assisted by Sammy Villanueva and Jorge Lara.
- Mateo DiDomenico scored his first goal of the season in the 18th minute, which was the second of his career at Cal State East Bay.
- Koptieff struck again in the 52nd minute to give Stanislaus State a 2-1 lead.
- Scoring his first goal of the season, and second of his career in the 69th minute was Clayton Branco to even the match at 2-2. Marco Antonio Campos picked up an assist.
- The Warriors went ahead 3-2 in the 74th minute on a goal from Tyler Tipton. Lara and Josh Santillan assisted on what became the game winner.
- Right at the end of regulation, Nick Namwali added a fourth goal for the Warriors on the day.
- Daniil Menshikov had a team-high three shots with two on net for Cal State East Bay.
- Branco, Drew Gibbons, Peter Hawken and Aidan Raftery played a full 90 minutes on Thursday.
- Hawken led the Pioneers in minutes throughout the 2022 season with 1,578.
- Aaron Farnan finished the season leading the Pioneers in goals with four and had four assists.
- Also with four assists in 2022 was Josh Gaeckle.
- Michael Rossi had a team-high 41 shots during the season.
