HAYWARD, Calif. —
The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team begins 2021 conference play at home this weekend, as the Pioneers play host to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) foes Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, Oct. 1, at 4:30 p.m., before taking on Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday, Oct. 3, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Both contests will be streamed live on CCAA Network, and live stats will be available.

CSUEB (1-4-1) is 1-1 in its last two CCAA home openers, which includes a thrilling 3-2 victory over Stanislaus State in 2018. 

The Pioneers are coming off two road defeats to conclude non-conference play, dropping contests at Stan State on Sept. 25, and a home match against San Francisco State on Sept. 16.

Junior Josh Gaeckle leads East Bay this season with two goals and a team-high five total points, while sophomore Daniil Menshikov scored his first-career goal in a Pioneer uniform last weekend against Stanislaus State.

Sophomore Peter Hawken leads all players with 423 minutes played on the back line this season, with sophomore midfielder Drew Gibbons right behind with 421 minutes played. Meanwhile, freshman goalkeeper Zavier Hajdukovich recorded a career-high five saves in the defeat at Stan State on Sept. 25.
