HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team put its resiliency on full display in its season opener on Thursday night, playing Dominican to a tie, 1-1, at Pioneer Stadium.
Senior
Miles Ramos scored a goal in the 35th minute off an assist from
Aaron Farnan to knot the score for good at 1-1. Ramos' first goal of the season came just moments after Dominican took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Alexandre Bernier.
Goalkeeper
Kelekolio Mateo, Jr. finished with 16 saves in his Pioneer debut. The 16 saves rank third most for the program in a single since 2005.
CSUEB (0-0-1) returns to action next Friday, Sept. 10, as it plays host to Holy Names at 4:30 p.m. as part of the East Bay Fall Classic.
