HAYWARD, Calif. —
The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team hits the road for two non-conference matches this week, as the Pioneers take on Fresno Pacific on Thursday, Sept. 16, beginning at 5 p.m., before facing UC Merced on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 5 p.m.

Both matches will be streamed live, and live stats will be available.

CSUEB (1-1-1) is coming off an unbeaten two-match homestand, as the Pioneers defeated Holy Names, 3-0, for its first win of the season on Sept. 7. East Bay followed it up two days later by playing Dominican to a tie, 0-0, on Sept. 9.

Freshman Kylie Newman led the way for the Pioneers last week, as the Spokane, Wash., native recorded her first-career goal and assist in the victory over Holy Names. Newman also led East Bay with five shot attempts in the tie against Dominican.

In addition, senior Tami Kwong and freshman Jenna Villanueva also scored their first goal in a Pioneer uniform, while senior Kayla Morales, senior Ana Herrera, junior Maya Farkas and freshman Lexie Randolph each had one assist.

Senior Riley Spitzer currently ranks 10th in the conference in total shots (9) and shots on goal (5), while junior goalkeeper Jordan Smith's goals against average of .310 leads the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Cal State East Bay is 3-2 all-time against Fresno Pacific (0-3), and has won two-straight contests in the series. The Pioneers topped the Sunbirds, 2-0, in the last meeting between the two teams on Sept. 1, 2018.

Meanwhile, CSUEB won it's only meeting in program history against UC Merced, which was an 8-1 victory back on Sept. 2, 2012.
