East Bay Closes Season With Senior Day Win Over Stan State, 2-1

HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team finished its season on a high note Thursday afternoon, earning a home victory over Stanislas State, 2-1, on Senior Day at Pioneer Stadium.

The win for CSUEB (3-13-1, 2-9 CCAA) sent seniors Mateo Didomenico and Tommy Flora out on top to conclude the 2021 season.

Sophomore Alfonso Sandovol had a big day for the Pioneers, as he assisted on Aaron Farnan's goal in the 24th minute, and followed it up with a goal of his own moments later with a goal of his own off a pass from junior Josh Gaeckle in the 27th minute.

A native of Newark, Sandoval had a team-high two shots on target. Sophomore Peter Hawken, freshman Aidan Raftery and sophomore John Kuwano also recorded one shot apiece, while freshman goalkeeper Jack Landreth finished with six saves.
