HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team resumes conference play on the road this weekend against local conference rivals, as the Pioneers travel across the Bay to face San Francisco State on Friday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m., before taking on Sonoma State on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 11:30 a.m.

CSUEB is coming off narrow home defeats last weekend against California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) foes Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State San Marcos, each by 1-0 decisions.

Junior goalkeeper Kelekolio Mateo Jr. tallied three saves against San Bernardino, while freshman goalkeeper Jack Landreth recorded a career-high 10 saves during a driving rain storm Sunday against San Marcos.

Mateo Jr. leads the CCAA and ranks third in the nation this season in saves per game with 5.7 per contest in conference play and 6.64 overall.

Junior Josh Gaeckle leads the Pioneers on the year with three goal and seven total points, while sophomore defender Peter Hawken has played a team-high 1,099 minutes on the back line.
