HAYWARD, Calif. — Cal State East Bay cross country all-conference performers junior Amanda Navarro and freshman Richard McKain have been named CSUEB Athletes of the Week.

Navarro finished ninth overall in the 6K at the CCAA Championships on Oct. 23, posting the top mark for the Pioneer women after crossing the finish line in 21-minutes, 20.1-seconds. A native of Lake Elsinore, Navarro was an All-West Region performer in 2019, and ranks third all-time in program history for fastest time in a 6K.

Mckain led the Pioneer men in Saturday's 8K with a ninth-place finish at Saturday's conference championship meet after crossing the finish line in 24:58. It was the highest individual finish in Pioneer men's cross country history at the CCAA Championships, as he now ranks fourth all-time in program history.
