HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay water polo team had three standout student-athletes earn College Sports Information Directors (CoSIDA) Division II Academic All-District honors, the association announced on Thursday.

Adrien Van Dyke and sophomore goalkeeper
Daniela Passoni each received the prestigious accolade, as all three were also named Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) First-Team All-America on April 28. Meanwhile, Bill and Passoni garnered All-WWPA First-Team honors while Van Dyke was named to the second team.
In the process, the Pioneers became the only Division II program in the nation to have three First-Team All-Americans. It was also the first time CSUEB has had three First-Team All-America performers in the same season.
Bill recently graduated with a BA in psychology as well as a BS in criminal justice and a 3.42 cumulative GPA. She led the Pioneers with 42 goals, 21 assists and 63 total points en route to becoming a four-time All-American.
The Estevan, SK, Canada native also matched a team-high with 19 steals, while her 19 drawn exclusions were third-most on the team.
Van Dyke is an undeclared major with a 3.94 GPA. The junior finished second on the team with 30 goals and tied for second with 15 assists, as she became a three-time All-Amerian.
The Regina, SK, Canada native also drew a team-high 27 exclusions and led the Pioneers with 19 steals.
Passoni is also an undeclared major with a 3.92 GPA. The sophomore from Waverley, South Africa started 14 of 15 contests in the net, recording 162 saves to garner First-Team All-America honors for the first time in her career.
CSUEB finished the shortened 2020 season with a 6-9 overall record and perfect 2-0 mark in Wester Water Polo Association (WWPA) play.
The 2020 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 16-19.
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
