THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The No. RV Cal State East Bay water polo team swept two contests Friday on Day 1 of Cal Lutheran's Tina Finali Memorial Tournament at Samuelson Aquatic Center.
CSUEB (5-5, 2-0 WWPA) opened play by defeating club opponent Lindenwood, 15-5, and capped off a spectacular day of action with an 11-8 triumph over No. 25-ranked California Baptist.
The Pioneers' victory over CBU was their third-straight win overall, and first win this season over a team ranked in the ACWPC Top 25.

East Bay senior
Tahnee Trew and the junior trio of
Adrien Van Dyke,
Payton Bosque and
Ivanna Anderson scored two goals apiece to lift the Pioneers to the win.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Daniela Passoni racked up nine saves in the cage to earn the victory, while freshman
Jordan Jarandson recorded two assists.
CSUEB led at halftime, 6-4, and a power-play goal from senior
Auriel Bill pushed the lead to 9-7 with 3:28 left to play.
Junior
Maci Taylor's score on a power play put the Pioneers back on top by two, before Bosque's goal with 1:19 remaining gave East Bay a comfortable three-point lead.
CSUEB 15, Lindenwood 5
Trew scored a season-high four goals while junior
Leti Mosqueda finished with three goals to lift the Pioneers to an early morning victory over Lindenwood.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Brighton Kinney got the start in the cage for CSUEB, recording two saves in the win. In addition, senior
Meghan Hayward tallied a season-high two goals.
Cal State East Bay resumes action in this weekend's invitational on Saturday, as the Pioneers take on Division III Austin College at 10 a.m., followed by a big matchup against No. 14-ranked Indiana at 1:45 p.m.Â
