THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The No. RV Cal State East Bay water polo team is gearing up for four games this upcoming week at the annual Tina Finali Memorial Tournament hosted by Cal Lutheran at Samuelson Aquatic Center on Feb. 28-29.

The first game will be Friday, Feb. 28, against Lindenwood University at 7:30 a.m., followed by a contest against No. 25 California Baptist University at 12:30 p.m.

The final two games will be Saturday, Feb. 29, first against Austin College at 10 a.m., before wrapping up the weekend with a matchup against No. 14 Indiana University at 1:45 p.m.

The Pioneers will go into the invitational with a favorable two game-winning streak. Last week, East Bay showed off their offensive power in a road conference win against Sonoma State, 14-7.

Pioneers head coach Lisa Cooper spoke in regards to the win against Sonoma State stating, "We had different people stepping up and scoring goals, which was great to see."

Junior Adrien Van Dyke showed top speed by winning all the sprints throughout all of the four periods of the game, which is a pivotal area of the game that leads to taking control of the game early.

In addition, junior Ivanna Anderson and Leti Mosqueda scored three goals apiece in the road conference victory.

The key this coming week for the pioneers will be contribution will come from both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
