HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's water polo team resumes action this week at Pioneer Pool, as CSUEB plays host to No. RV Santa Clara on Friday, Feb. 14, beginning at 4 p.m.
In addition, the Pioneers begin Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) play on the road against Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 15, beginning at 1 p.m.

Cal State East Bay has won three of its last four matchups against Santa Clara, including the last two meetings in Hayward. CSUEB has already defeated Fresno Pacific this season, 14-12, on Feb. 25, and is 18-2 all-time against the Sunbirds.
The Pioneers had last weekend off after playing four games against four ranked opponents at Arizona State's Cross Conference Challenge Jan. 31-Feb. 1.Â
CSUEB played No. 25-ranked Azusa Pacific in a thrilling overtime contest and suffered narrow defeats to No. 15 Princeton and No. 10 Arizona State.Â
Cal State East Bay (1-4) led Princeton by one at halftime, and had a 6-4 advantage late in the third quarter before the Tigers rallied to pull out the win. The Pioneers trailed 4-3 at halftime in tight game against Arizona State before the Sun Devils pulled away in the second half.

Daniela Passoni tallied a career-high 18 saves in the narrow defeat to Azusa Pacific, while senior
Auriel Bill recorded 10 total goals in four contests.

Bill leads the Pioneers this season with 15 goals and is tied for second on the team with four assists. Junior
Adrien Van Dyke has recorded seven goals with three assists this season, while fellow junior
Payton Bosque has amassed four goals and five assists.
