The offense struck early and often for both the Eagles and Pioneers as the teams combined for eight runs through the first two innings of action. Concordia took an early 4-0 lead after the opening inning of action.

After Concordia added two more runs in the top of the second inning, the Pioneers answered back a run in the bottom of the fourth. Freshman
Hailey Davis (Albany, Ore.) cracked her first home run of the season with a blast over the left field fence. For Davis, it was her first home run as a Pioneer.

But unfortunately, it would the final run of the ballgame for the Pioneers who fell to the Eagles 9-3 after they added three runs across the final two innings of the opening game.
Maddie Ramirez finished with two RBI, a double and a stolen base.

The doubleheader finale began totally different than the previous game as both teams went scoreless through the first two innings. But similar to the first contest the visiting Eagles opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the third innings.

The Pioneers bounced back with two runs of their own to close the inning.
Rachel Tadlock (Woodland, Calif.) opened the inning with a double to left center. Two at bats later

In the top of the fourth the Eagles took a 7-2 advantage with three runs in the inning but the Pioneers cut into the Concordia lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. After Aguigui and Portesi both reached on errors to open the inning, a
Jennifer Palmares (Elk Grove, Calif.) sacrifice bunt advance both Aguigui and Portesi a base. Palmares finished with two hits.

In the next at bat,
Sarah Fukushima singled to second base, scoring Aguigui and advancing Portesi. Continuing the Pioneers hot streak,
Maddie Ramirez tripled through the right side to score both Portesi and Fukushima and close the Eagles lead to 7-5. Fukushima paced the Pioneers with three hits, a run and a RBI and Ramirez tallied a triple and two RBI.

That would be the last scores of the game for the Pioneers and the Eagles scored five runs in the last two innings of the game.

Abby Burkholder (Sacramento, Calif.) notched a career-best four strikeouts to lead East Bay.
