Men's Soccer Falls Short in Matchup at Chico State

Box Score CHICO, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay men's soccer team had its tough luck continue on Thursday evening, dropping a road contest at Chico State, 4-0, at University Soccer Stadium.

The Pioneers fell behind early on after the Wildcats (11-4, 7-4 CCAA) got on the scoreboard in the game's second minute. 

Chico State's Mikey Hirsch scored his first of three goals on the day when he knocked in a shot from 15 yards out, and Cal State East Bay was unable to make up the early deficit.

Junior forward Tommy Flora recorded two shots to lead the Pioneers, while senior Tyson Griffin, junior Stoil Ganev and freshman Nick LaManna had one shot apiece. Sophomore goalkeeper Juan Diego Escalante finished with three saves in the net.

CSUEB (2-15, 0-11) returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 9, as the Pioneers conclude the regular season at Stanislaus State beginning at 11:30 a.m.
