Box Score HAYWARD, Calif. — They say good things come in threes, and the Pioneers won't disagree.

Junior midfielder Lauren McDougal knocked through the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute on Friday evening, lifting the Cal State East Bay women's soccer team to a victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills, 1-0, for its third-consecutive win.

It is the first time in program history the Pioneers have won three-straight California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) contests.

McDougal found the back of the net for the third game in a row, this time off a double assist from junior Abby Buitrago and sophomore Annika Blom. It was the team-leading seventh goal of the season for the Sacramento native, and first assists of the season for both Buitrago and Blom.

Freshman Jordan Smith had another stellar game in the net, finishing with six saves.

"The pressure is on when it's 0-0, and the pressure is really on when it's 1-0," said Smith. "You don't want to let that goal in. You just want to keep it strong and keep it going."

In the process, CSUEB (5-5-3, 4-2-1 CCAA) moved into fifth place in the conference standings with 13 points. The top six teams in the CCAA standings qualify for the conference tournament beginning Nov. 12.

The Pioneers play host to Cal State LA for Senior Day on Sunday, Oct. 27, beginning at 2 p.m., while CSUSM returns to action at Cal State LA on Thursday, Oct. 31.
