HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay softball team wrapped up their weekend home California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) weekend home slate with a Sunday doubleheader sweep over the visiting Humboldt State Lumberjacks at Pioneer Softball Field.

The weekend rains came and washed away all the Pioneer hitting problems as CUSEB tallied 26 total hits to improve to 11-19 on the season and 7-17 in CCAA action.

The opening game of the doubleheader, East Bay tied their season high with 14 hits as they cruised to a 15-1 victory in only five innings. The Pioneers 15 runs were also a season best.

Abby Greer (Beaverton, Ore.) (W, 4-9) recorded her ninth complete game of the season and second complete game of the series. Greer finished with two strikeouts and only allowed one earned run.

Despite the lop-sided score, it would be the Lumberjacks who opened up the scoring on the afternoon. But the responded with runs in each of the next four innings to come away with the victory.

Junior
Courtney Leyba (Huntington Beach, Calif.) went 4-for-4 for the game, including a double with three RBI and three runs scored.
Sarah Fukushima (Sacramento, Calif.) and
Jennifer Palmares (Elk Grove, Calif.) also compiled multi-hit performances for East Bay. Fukushima doubled to go along with three RBI and a run scored while Palmares tallied three runs and an RBI.

Maddie Ramirez (Chino Hills, Calif.) also rallied three RBI for the Pioneers with a triple and a run scored.
Desiree Jimmy (Los Angeles, Calif.) also logged two hits, a RBI and a run scored.
Bailee Aguigui (Vacaville, Calif.) finished with two RBI, two runs and a hit.

Bailee Glover (Reno, Nev.),
Belle Placencia (Apple Valley, Calif.),
Jocelyn Baldon (Chino Hills, Calif.) and
Kassie Kochan (San Ramon, Calif.) all scored for CSUEB while Glover and Placencia both registered hits and Baldon garnered a RBI.

The series finale went into extra innings to decide a winner as it would be a
Belle Placencia RBI, scoring
Sarah Fukushima in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure the doubleheader sweep.

The scoring in this game was a bit more spread out as the Lumberjacks held 3-1 lead over the Pioneers headed into the sixth inning. In the bottom of the sixth inning the Pioneers notched two scores to tie the game a 3-3.

Belle Placencia paced East Bay with three hits, including a pair of doubles, two RBI and a run scored.
Jennifer Palmares logged two doubles and scored a run and Emile Portesi (Chino, Calif.) added two hits for the Pioneers.

Meghan Araneta (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) double and scored a run while recording the Pioneers only stolen base of the afternoon.
Sarah Fukushima compiled a hit and a run.

Bailee Aguigui both tallied a hit and a RBI.

Baliee Glover (W, 4-2) went all nine innings registering her second complete game of the season while only allowed two earned runs.
