HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team will get back to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action with contests against Cal State L.A. and Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The Pioneers will face the Eagles on Thursday, October 4 at 4:30 p.m. at University Stadium and then play against the Toros on Saturday, October 6 at 2:00 a.m. at Toro Stadium.

WEEK IN REVIEW
The Cal State East Bay women's soccer program fell, 3-2 in extra minutes to visiting West Region foe Holy Names Saturday night, September 29 at Pioneer Stadium.

With the loss the Pioneers move to 5-4-1 on the season with a 3-2-1 mark at Pioneer Stadium. It was East Bay's first loss to Holy Names since the 2008 season.

Jamie McPherson (San Leandro, Calif.) scored her first and second goals of the 2018 season in a huge night for CSUEB. McPherson got the Pioneers on the board in the 15th minute of action as she placed a shot to the bottom right of the net on a pass through from sophomore
Lauren McDougal (Elk Grove, Calif.). Her second score was a header to the top center of the net as she was assisted by senior
Savannah Schultz (Folsom, Calif.).

Freshman Brianna Vasquez-Ortiz (Long Beach, Calif.) logged one save on the night through over 95 minutes of game action.

PIONEER POINTS
The Pioneers got off to a 5-0 to the season which is the program's best start since joining the CCAA. Cal State East Bay had only allowed one goal through those five games.

Abby Buitrago (San Jose, Calif.) leads the Pioneers with four goals scored which are tied for third in the conference. Buitrago's nine points are also tied for fourth in the CCAA and her three game-winning goals are tops in the conference.

Chace Miguel (Hollister, Calif.) is second on the Pioneers with three goals and seven points. Miguel leads the squad with two goals in CCAA action and she has one assist on the season.
Jamie McPherson (San Leandro, Calif.) has two goals on the season along with two assists.

Keionna Claypoole (Sacramento, Calif.) and
Jordan Lemieux (Bothell, Wash.) also have two assists apiece to lead the Pioneers.

Freshman goalkeeper
Briana Vasquez-Ortiz (Long Beach, Calif.) has racked up 29 saves and three shutouts. Vasquez-Ortiz is tied for third in the conference lead with three shutouts.

SCOUTING CAL STATE L.A.
The Cal State L.A. Eagles are 6-3-1 on the season with a 3-2-1 mark in CCAA action after back-to-back victories over Cal State Dominguez Hills and SF State. Ashtyn Bracamonte leads the Eagles with three goals and six points while Paulina Chaidez is tops on the team with two assists. Adriana Maldonado has played all ten games in goal with 53 saves and four shutouts.

SCOUTING CAL STATE DOMINGUZ HILLS
The Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros enter the match against the Pioneers with a 1-6-2 mark on the season and a 1-4-1 record in CCAA play after back-to-back losses to Cal State L.A. and SF State. Holly Kaemerle is tops on CSUDH with three goals, two assists and eight points. Ruth-Maria Soto leads the CCAA with 55 saves through nine games with two shutouts.
