ARCATA, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team completed the 2018 regular season with a 1-1 tie against Humboldt State on Saturday morning, October 27 at College Creek Field.

With the tie the Pioneers finish the season with a 7-8-3 record in a 2-7-3 mark in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play.

For the second time in the last three matches the Pioneers played into double overtime. It was the home team Lumberjacks who got on the board first as connected on a goal just before halftime. Humboldt State scored in the 42nd minute of play to take a 1-0 advantage into the intermission.

The Pioneers would answer with a goal of their own to tie the game at 1-1 on a shot form
Jamie McPherson (San Leandro, Calif.) in the 74th minute. McPherson boosted a shot just over the outstretched hands of the goalkeeper into the right corner of the goal. For McPherson, it was her fifth goal of the season to tie the team lead. It was McPherson's fourth goal in conference action.

Neither team would be able to capitalize on their opportunities throughout the rest of the game as they game ended in a draw.

East Bay attempted 22 shots for the game, their second highest output of the season. The Pioneers 20 shots on goal did however set a new season high for the 2018 season.

Sophomore
Abby Buitrago (San Jose, Calif.) paced the Pioneers with five shots including four shots on goal.
Chace Miguel (Hollister, Calif.) tabbed four shots with all four shots coming on goal. Senior
Miranda Gonzalez (Santa Rosa, Calif.) attempted three shots with all three shots coming on goal.

Jordan Lemieux (Bothell, Wash.),
Aulani Fernandez (Brentwood, Calif.),
Jamie McPherson and
Andrea Aborqui (Bakersfield, Calif.) all added two shot attempts apiece with all the shots coming on goal except for one of Aborqui's shots.
Savannah Schultz (Folsom, Calif.) and
Liz Hernandez (Whittier, Calif.) chipped in one shot and a shot on goal each.

Freshman goalkeeper
Briana Vasquez-Ortiz (Long Beach, Calif.) notched a career best 11 saves as the team recorded a season-best 15 saves in total.
