This game was a continuation of a game that was suspended due to rain March 4 with the Pioneers and Otters knotted at one in the top of the fourth.
The Otters would come out swinging in the fourth and plate two runs. They would follow that up with two more in the fifth to lead 5-1, but the Pioneers would claw back and then some in the fifth.
The Pioneers would send 11 batters to the plate and score six runs to take a 7-5 lead. The big inning was aided by seven free bases allowed by the Otters and a single by
Rose Marston that scored
Ashley Allen and Alison Noble. Two bases loaded walks scored runs for the Pioneers.
The Otters did get a run in the sixth, but the Pioneers would hold on a take game one 7-6.

GAME TWO: Cal State East Bay 3, Cal State Monterey Bay 2
The Pioneers had to battle from behind again in game two as
Ali Cerminara scored from third on an
Ashley Allen single to second base to secure the Tuesday sweep.
The rally started after the Otters gained a 2-0 lead after the first inning. The Otters could only hold the Pioneer bats down until the fourth inning when
Anabella Serafin scored from third on a
Courtney Leyba sacrifice fly to make it 2-1.
Leyba got involved in a next rally as she singled up the middle in the sixth to score Allen and tie the game at two.
The game-winning run in the seventh came after the first two batters of the inning were retired. Cerminara came up with two outs and walked on four straight pitches. She advanced to second on a wild pitch and then was able to score from second on the Allen single.
Marston went 2 for 4 in game two to make it 4 for 6 combined in the doubleheader. Clark, Cairns, and Beilstein all took turns in the circle, with Beilstein pitching the final three innings and not allowing a run or hit in earning her sixth victory of the season. Clark and Cairns were also impressive. Clark pitched two innings and didn't allow an earned run. Cairns pitched two innings of scoreless ball.
