HAYWARD, Calif – The Cal State men's soccer team is embarking on the final home stand of the 2016 season. East Bay will host the visiting Wildcats of Chico State on Sunday, October 16 at Pioneer Stadium.
 
WEEK IN REVIEW
The Pioneers completed their three game California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) road trek with a 1-1-1 record, including a 3-2 thrilling win over Stanislaus State.
 
Senior Victor Calderon led the Pioneers with one goal and one assist on a team best 11 shots. Fellow senior Preston Hale added one goal on two shots and junior Christian Gonzalez compiled one goal on three shots. Sophomore Brett Fuchs tallied one goal on one shot.
 
Senior Steffen Sauer also had an assist against Cal Poly Pomona.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Carlos Moreno led CSUEB with 14 saves through three games, including a career best seven saves in a loss to Cal State San Bernardino.
 
PIONEER POINTS
The Pioneers have already made history this season, reachign six wins overall for the first time since becoming members of the CCAA in 2009. With a 6-6-1 record, they also have a chance to finish at least .500 for the first time since 2007. 
 
CSUEB has scored 20 goals through 13 games, good for fifth in the conference, while allowing 21 goals from opponents.
 
Senior Victor Calderon ranks tenth in the CCAA with three assists on the season.
 
Calderon, Preston Hale and Michael Pavia are tied for the team lead with three goals apiece.
 
SCOUTING CHICO STATE
Chico State is 3-1 in their last four games, with win against Cal State San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Wildcats have scored and allowed 11 goals through 12 games this season. Omar Nuno is tied for third in the CCAA with six goals scored and 14 points. Alex Fluitt is also tied for third in the conference with four assists.
