Box Score: SCU 12, CSUEB 7 - FSANTA CLARA, Calif. – Cal State East Bay women's water polo suffered a pair of defeats on Saturday to No. 11 Indiana and host Santa Clara at the Sullivan Aquatics Center. The Pioneers were blanked by the Hoosiers 16-0 in the opener and fell 12-7 to the Broncos to close out the day.
Cal State East Bay did not draw an exclusion or find the back of the net on 22 attempts in Saturday's opener.
Taylor Cross and
Alyssa Hess led the team with two steals apiece.
Indiana (6-6) had nine different players score with five going for multiple scores. Kelly Matthews led IU with four goals.

Marrina Nation made five first half saves in her return to the pool.
Miranda Diehm made three second have stops in the loss.
Santa Clara (7-4) was coming off a big win over Indiana from earlier and would close out the day versus the visiting Pioneers. The Broncos built an early 6-2 advantage through the middle of the second quarter and led by at least three goals the rest of the game.
Nayiri Kechichian and Cross led East Bay with two goals apiece.
Olivia Mackell drew five of the team's 11 earned exclusions in the game, but the Pioneers converted on just 2-of-10 player advantage opportunities.
Nation was credited with six saves over the first three quarters of play.
Cal State East Bay (3-8) will travel down to the city of Thousand Oaks, Calif. to take part in Cal Lutheran's annual tournament. The Tina Finali Invitational, which begins on Saturday, Feb. 28, is named after the passing of former CLU water polo player Christina Messer.
