Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.Megan Ravenscroft scored both of Cal State East Bay's goals in a 2-1 overtime road win over San Francisco State on Sunday afternoon. The game-winner came with only three seconds remaining in the first overtime period to earn the team's first league victory of the season.

"I'm very happy with our effort and intensity. We came out strong in the second half," praised East Bay Head Coach Amy Gerace. The Pioneers have scored 14 of their 17 goals this season after intermission including two today versus the Gators.

San Francisco State (5-3-0, 0-2-0 CCAA) outshot Cal State East Bay 24-14 overall and 10-6 in shots on goal. The Pioneers got a big effort from goalkeeper Briana Scholtens as she matched her career-high with nine saves and held the Gators scoreless in the first half.

"Several people made a big impact on this game, starting with Bri. She played with a lot of confidence and that was something we've needed," complimented Gerace of her goalkeeper.

East Bay was not credited with a shot on target as the team's headed into halftime scoreless. Ravenscroft ended that streak within the second minute out of intermission and the Pioneers went on the attack.

The sophomore striker would score her team leading sixth goal of the season, set up by junior Mindy Castro's team best fifth assist, in the 51st minute. Ravenscroft scored in back-to-back games, and would end up scoring multiple goals each for the second time in her career.

For the second time in as many matches the Pioneers would surrender the equalizing goal. Laura Shea's cross was redirected on target by the head of Elizet Ceja in the 80th minute to tie the game.

Cal State East Bay had previously been in three matches in which both teams scored in a tie game and had yet to earn a win (0-2-1) this season. That streak would end in the waning seconds of overtime as Corryn Barney set up the game-winner.

Barney found Ravenscroft who fired on target from five yards out for the golden goal. It is the first of her career and second game-winner versus San Francisco State in three matches against the Gators.

"It was a good ending to a great weekend for Megan. It was nice for Corryn to earn her first point today as well," stated Gerace. "(Alyssa Rodriguez) continues to provide a much needed spark. All of our midfielders were key on both sides of the ball in today's win. It's fun to watch them play and certain individuals motivating this team."

Cal State East Bay (4-3-2, 1-1-0 CCAA) will host nationally ranked No. 20 (9-0-0, 2-0-0 CCAA) on Friday, Oct. 3.
