The Pioneers will host their league opener against Humboldt State before renewing the "Battle of the Bay" rivalry on the road Sunday, Sept. 28, with San Francisco State.

The Jacks, who were picked to finish last out of the 12-team field in the preseason CCAA coaches poll, finished just 3-12-3, 1-12-3 CCAA a year ago.
Cal State East Bay and Humboldt State have striking offensive similarities over the past two seasons. Last year the Pioneers and Jacks each scored just 12 goals in 18 games. This season both squads have already surpassed that number with HSU scoring 15 times in six contests, and CSUEB at 13 through seven matches.
Cal State East Bay has not lost in seven meetings (6-0-1) with Humboldt State since joining the CCAA in 2009. Five of the seven match-ups have been decided by one goal or finished in a tie, and three of those seven have gone into double overtime.

The Gators will host their league opener against the reigning league champs and No. 3 nationally ranked Cal State Stanislaus (7-0-0) on Friday at Cox Stadium. SFSU will finish off a 4-game homestand versus Cal State East Bay on Sunday afternoon.
Last season Cal State East Bay earned its first win over San Francisco State since joining the league in 2009.

San Francisco State was picked to finish 10th out of the 12-team field in the preseason CCAA coaches poll, receiving five more points than Cal State East Bay. The Gators are coming off a 7-7-4, 6-7-3 CCAA season in 2013 in which they scored a league-low 10 goals. This year S.F. State has already matched that total, doing so in 12 fewer matches.
