Box Score SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Cal State East Bay suffered its fourth straight defeat on Sunday afternoon dropping a 1-0 result to Cal State San Bernardino at Premier Field. Melanie Aguayo scored in the 20th minute to give the Coyotes their third straight victory and en route to their 10th shutout of the year.

Cal State East Bay goalkeeper Selena Braun made all five of her first half saves within the opening 12 minutes of the match. She was kept busy making five saves in just over a 5-minute stretch including three against the team's season-leading scorer Kiana Quarles.

Quarles would have an impact in the final score as she set up Aguayo following the early and constant attack. Aguayo fired on target from the left side for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal.

Cal State East Bay's Corryn Barney and Megan Ravenscroft took the first and last shots of the opening half. CSUSB goalkeeper Emily White turned away both attempts and the final Pioneer on target strike of the contest from Kianna Lamont during the opening minute of the second half.

"We made some defensive adjustments this week and I thought the team responded well," said East Bay Head Coach Amy Gerace. "However we continued to struggle offensively. Simply put, we aren't going to win games if we don't score goals," added Gerace after the Pioneers suffered back-to-back shutout losses.

In nine home matches at Premier Field this season, the only team to defeat Cal State San Bernardino is current California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) leader Cal State L.A. The Golden Eagles are 13-1-1, 8-0-0 CCAA and have outscored opponents 33-6 this season.

Cal State East Bay (5-8-2, 2-6-0 CCAA) will host Cal State Dominguez Hills (2-12-1, 2-6-0 CCAA) on Friday, Oct. 26, 4:30 p.m.
