Cal State East Bay-Cal Poly Pomona Match Preview
Both squads enter Friday's contest having won both of their respective matches the previous weekend. Cal State East Bay (2-6-0, 2-4-0 CCAA) poured in a season-high three goals against Cal State Monterey Bay and edged San Francisco State 1-0 on Sunday.

Trey James provided two goals and an assist in his first ever start for the Pioneers. Jesus Magana supplied two assists and scored the game-winner against SFSU over the team's previous two contests. He was named the CSUEB Male Athlete of the Week.

The Cal Poly Pomona (5-2-1, 3-2-1 CCAA) offense exploded over the past weekend scoring seven times in two games. Brandon Cortez was named the CCAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week after scoring four goals (two in each game). Cortez (5) and teammate Luis Najera Jr. (4) rank second and third overall in the CCAA in goal scoring this season.

In 2012 the Broncos finished just 3-11-3, 1-11-3 CCAA. This season they have already surpassed both marks with five wins, including three in league play. The Pioneers will look to end a current six-match winless streak (0-4-2) against the Broncos. The Pioneers have scored twice in each of the past three meetings resulting in a pair of draws.
