HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay men's soccer will cap off a four-match road trip this weekend against California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opponents San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay. The Pioneers hope to repeat their performance against both squads after earning victories in earlier matchups this season.

"As we enter into the final third of the regular season we are looking to put all of our experiences and development into this final segment of the year.  We have competed in every match this year and believe we had many positive moments in each one," said Head Coach Andy Cumbo.

Cal State East Bay at San Francisco State – (Friday, Oct. 18)
Cal State East Bay will face a San Francisco State team trending downard having suffered five straight shutout defeats and looking for its first goal in over 465 minutes of game action. The Pioneers are hoping to put the brakes on a current three-game skid to move ahead of the Gators in the CCAA North Division standings.

CSUEB junior Arthur Ethel has scored goals in back-to-back games and leads the squad with three on the year. The Pioneers matched their season-high single game total with three goals in a 5-3 loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills in their most recent contest.

SFSU goalkeeper Colt Reichl leads the CCAA with 51 saves in 10 conference games. He allowed the lone goal in the Pioneers-Gators original matchup to Jesus Magana in a 1-0 win for Cal State East Bay back on Sept. 29.

Cal State East Bay at Cal State Monterey Bay – (Sunday, Oct. 20)
The Pioneers handed the Otters one of their three losses this season back on Sept. 27. East Bay has won the last two meetings between these squads and will look to make it three in a row on Sunday.

"We are eager to play both San Francisco State and Monterey Bay again…(CSUMB) is currently at the top of the table in the North…We had a successful result against them last month and are looking forward to playing them at their field," said Cumbo.

Monterey Bay enters the weekend on a four-match unbeaten streak (3-0-1) and currently sits atop the CCAA North Division standings. The Otters offense ranks second in league play with 20 goals. They have scored in all 12 games this year and tallied multiple goals in each of their last four matches.

Servando Perez leads the team and is ranked in the CCAA's top-5 having scored five goals in 2013. Teammate Alberto Anguiano leads the Otters and is ranked in the top-5 of the league with 13 points this season. CSUMB goalkeeper Evan Drake ranks second in the CCAA with 54 saves.
