HAYWARD - Following a 1-1 preseason, the Pioneers will open CCAA play on September 9 with a home match against Sonoma State. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sonoma State defeated Cal State East Bay twice last season including a 2-1 win in Hayward.

After two matches, the Pioneers have outshot their opponents by a 27-26 margin. Florian Reppin is the Pioneers' top scorer with two goals and one assist. Chris Lara has scored a goal and an assist in two matches. Pioneer goalkeepers Bryce Bookhamer and Rene Martinez have each allowed two goals this season.

The Seawolves, 1-1 in preseason play, will begin CCAA action on September 7 with a road match against Cal State Monterey Bay. Sonoma State is one of five CCAA teams to make the NSCAA West Region Rankings after one week of play. Brenton Frame has scored two goals while Taylor Varnadore has one goal and two assists on 11 shots. Seawolves goalkeeper Beau Diaz has allowed one goal with one shutout and seven saves in two matches.
