Pioneer senior and reigning CCAA Newcomer of the Year Suzy Ni Xu had an impressive weekend for Cal State East Bay at the Western Oregon Invitational. Xu hit .381 with 10 kills in the opener against No. 17 Western Washington. She followed that up with 16 kills and three aces in a four-set loss to the host Wolves. Xu was even better on Friday morning against Mentro State, totaling 15 kills with just one attack error. Xu hit .452 and racked up seven digs in a heartbreaking five-set loss. For the tournament, she posted 2.93 kills per set, seven service aces, 16 digs, and a team-best .320 hitting percentage.
