Freshman Kelsey Cairns had a strong start to her college career, winning her first two starts in a Pioneer uniform last weekend. Cairns pitched two seven-inning complete games and earned victories in both of East Bay's wins in the four-game split at Cal State San Bernardino. She gave up four runs in the the Pioneers' 7-4 win on the back end of Friday's doubleheader, then surrendered four runs again in the team's 8-5 win in the series finale on Saturday. Cairns will look to continue her unbeaten streak this weekend at the Mizuno Tournament of Champions in Turlock, Calif.
