Whitfield had his best scoring weekend of the season in the Pioneers' homestand against Cal State San Bernardino and UC San Diego. The sophomore led the Pioneers with 11 points and six assists on Friday. The following night, he posted 14 points and four assists, shooting 50 percent from the field. Whitfield was the only Pioneer to score in double figures in both games. For the weekend, he averaged 12.5 ppg, 5.0 apg and 3.0 rpg. The reigning CCAA Freshman of the Year is scoring 8.7 ppg this season and leads East Bay in minutes (30.8), assists (2.9 apg), and free throw shooting (77.8 percent).
