Tre Mauldin was instrumental in the Pioneers' 85-82 win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday in their CCAA home opener. The sophomore guard led the team with 15 points, three steals, and three assists. He shot 3-of-7 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free throw line, incuding some big foul shots down the stretch to hold off the Otter comeback. Mauldin also added three rebounds in 18 minutes of play. Finally, perhaps the most memorable moment of the game occurred when Mauldin's half-court buzzer beater swished through the net to put an exclamtion point on a first half that the Pioneers dominated.
