After leading the Pioneers in scoring as a freshman, Buitrago got her sophomore year off to a strong start with game-winning goals in each of CSUEB's first two games -- the first time East bay has started 2-0 since 2012. It took just four minutes in the season opener against Academy of Art for Buitrago to score off an assist from Jordan Lemieux, and the Pioneers went onto win 3-0. Two days later, East Bay picked up another shutout victory as Buitrago put them ahead in the 15th minute with another assist from Lemieux. She was one of just four CCAA players to score multiple goals in the opening week, and one of just two to net a pair of game-winners.
