Deja Thompson closed out an outstanding 2017 season by leading the Pioneers to sweep victories over Stanislaus State and Chico State in the final two matches of the regular season. She had six kills and four blocks against the Warriors, helping the team turn in a dominant defensive effort in which it allowed just 41 total points. In Saturday's finale against the Wildcats, Thompson hit .625 with 16 kills as CSUEB posted its highest attack percentage of the season. For the week, she hit .488, averaged 3.67 kills per set, and totaled five assists and six blocks. On Wednesday, Thompson became the first CSUEBÂ player since 2010 to be named First Team All-CCAA.
