Chris Lessard had a record-setting performance on Saturday to lead the Pioneer men's cross country team to 11th place at NCAA Division II West Regionals, the program's highest finish since 1998. He paced an extremely impressive effort at Regionals by the seven Pioneers in the race, who turned in seven of the ten fastest 10k times in school history.

Lessard broke his own school record at the 10k distance, crossing the finish line in 30:54.9. The senior finished 21st in the overall field, becoming the first Pioneer runner to earn USTFCCCA All-West Region honors since the program re-joined NCAA Division II.
