Omar Coronel picked up the victory for the Pioneers in the team's only game of the week, a 4-1 home non-conference win over UC Santa Cruz. The junior goalkeeper made three saves as East Bay cruised to victory. The Banana Slugs' only goal came off a rebound in the 83rd minute with the game well in hand. 

Coronel also scored his first collegiate goal in the 52nd minute, booting a full-length kick over the entire UCSC defense that bounced into the net, making it a comfortable 3-0 lead for the Pioneers.
