Midfielder Mindy Castro has been selected as Cal State East Bay's Co-Female Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Doubletree Hilton Pleasanton at the Club, for Sept. 7-13. The senior turned in strong performances facilitiating the Pioneer offense in games against Notre Dame da Namur, Sacramento State, and No. 23 Seattle Pacific last week. 

Castro played 44 minutes off the bench and put two shots on goal in the team's decisive 3-0 win over NDNU on Monday. She started the next two contests and scored East Bay's only goal on a rebound in a 3-1 loss on the road to Division I squad Sacramento State.

Castro then played 71 minutes against the 23rd-ranked Falcons on Saturday, helped the Pioneers play to a 2-2 tie during regulation before SPU won on a golden goal in double overtime. She has now totaled two goals and five assists in 23 games since transferring to CSUEB.
