Cal State East Bay junior Marquise Cherry captured the CCAA Championships in the men's long jump. His distance of 24 feet, 10 inches (7.57m) is the sixth longest jump in program history and currently ranks No. 8 in the country heading into NCAA National Championships. He's just the second Pioneer athlete ever to win a CCAA championship.

Cherry placed second in the triple jump at CCAA Championships with a leap of 47 feet, 7.25 inches (14.51m), finishing the event with two podium finishes. He also qualified for the finals of the 100 meter dash with a personal best time of 10.70 seconds.
