Lauren McGlory made history for the Pioneers at the 2014 CCAA Track and Field Championships in San Diego. On Friday, she broke the school record in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 6 inches. The senior was nearly five inches better than the previous record, set 22 years ago. She placed third in the event, earning a bronze medal and a spot on the podium. The following day, McGlory captured the CCAA Championship in her best event, the triple jump. He leap of 41 feet, 4 inches was short of her school record set last month, but it was enough to claim the Pioneers' first-ever CCAA Championship in a track event field event. McGlory led CSUEB to 22 total points in the meet, putting them in a tie for eighth place. She has already qualified to compete in the triple jump at the NCAA Championships, currently ranking fifth in the nation with a jump of 41 feet, 10.5 inches.
