Nick Hudson was brilliant on the mound for the Cal State East Bay baseball team this past weekend, leading them to a 6-2 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay in Friday's series opener. The senior tossed a complete game, allowing two earned runs on six hits with one walk and three strikeouts to earn his team-best sixth win of the season. After the Otters scored twice in the third inning, Hudson shut them down the rest of the way, giving up just one hit over the final six scoreless frames. The Benecia native now leads the CCAA in innings pitched (60.2) and complete games (4) during conference play. He has pitched at least 7.0 innings in seven of his eight starts for the Pioneers and has issued just nine walks in 64.2 innings for the season.
