Freshman Jordan Abel turned in two outstanding pitching performances last weekend, helping the Pioneer softball team sweep a four-game series against Cal State San Bernardino. On Friday, she tossed her first career shutout in a narrow 1-0 victory. The Phoenix, Ariz. native scattered five hits, struck out three, and didn't walk a batter in seven innings. Abel threw another complete game the following day, allowing two earned runs and recording a pair of strikeouts in a 3-2 win. She improved her record to 6-3 on the season with a team-best 2.75 ERA. Over her last four outings, Abel is 3-0 with a 1.17 ERA in 24.0 innings.
