Emily Perlich threw the first no-hitter by a Cal State East Bay pitcher since 1998 on Saturday. Perlich went 2-0 against CSUDH, highlighted by her no-hit effort in her second start of the weekend. She faced one batter over the minimum with a third inning walk, as the Pioneers routed the Toros 9-0. Perlich earned her third of four straight wins in the series opener on Friday after allowing just one hit over the first five innings of work. The junior struck out 12 batters in 12 innings and has won her last four starts in improving her season record to 6-10 with a 3.29 ERA. She is currently tied for fourth among CCAA players with 71 strikeouts and alone in fourth with 11 complete games thus far in 2014. On Monday, Perlich was named CCAA Pitcher of the Week for the first time in her career.
