Caitlin DeNise had a historic weekend for the Pioneer swim team, which took second place at the 2014 PCSC Championships in La Mirada, Calif. On Wednesday, she was part of the 200 medley relay team that set a school record and acheived an NCAA "B" cut time. The following day, she became the first Pioneer swimmer to win an individual PCSC title, claming the 200 individual medley crown after breaking her own East Bay record in 2:03.51. Later in the day, she partcipated in another record-setting performance as the 200 freestyle relay team took second place and earned a "B" cut. On Friday, DeNise was the runner-up in the 100 butterfly, swimming an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 54.78 in the morning prelims. She followed that up by helping the 400 medley relay team to a narrow second-place finish, as the Pioneers were out-touched by Alaska Fairbacks later in the afternoon. DeNise closed out the conference championships on Saturday with two more "B" cuts, including her second individual title. The senior captured the 100 freestyle in 50.94 seconds. Based on her point total for the weekend, she was named PCSC Female Swimmer of the Meet.
