Junior gaurd Jacari Whitfield knocked down nine three-pointers and averaged a team-best 16.0 points per game this past weekend as the Pioneer men's basketball team earned a split of their two home games. Whitfield notched 14 points and a pair of steals on Friday night in East Bay's narrow 71-69 win over Sonoma State. The next night, the San Francisco native went 6-for-8 from three and led the team with 18 points in 34 minutes as the Pioneers fell to SF State, 71-64. Whitfield is CSUEB's third-leading scorer for the season and leads the CCAA with 45 three-pointers made. He's been red-hot lately, shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 58.3 percent from behind the arc (14-for-24) over his last three games.
