Cal State East Bay University Athletics

The 1977 men's track team highlighted a dominant era for the Pioneers that included seven consecutive Far Western Conference championships. That season, Cal State Hayward captured the University’s first-ever NCAA Division II team national championship. Dave Haber (High Jump) and John LaGrande (Triple Jump) won individual NCAA championships, and the team set a program record with 11 All-America honorees.
