Anderson competed for the football team in 1966 and 1967 and became the first ever CSUH player to participate in a post-season all-star game (Potato Bowl). He was twice named All-League Far Western Conference including Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1967. Also in 1967, Anderson was selected Honorable Mention Little All-American and Little All Far West Coast.
